Later…notes:

  • I’m zooming on too much Keffa coffee.
  • My darling cousin Heather pinged to tell me she loves Girl by Beck too. Great minds….
  • I just love Wilco. I think I like the live version of Handshake Drugs on Kicking Television better than the album track. Cool news is that band are wrapping work on the next album called “Sky Blue Sky” scheduled for release on May 15th. For the first time, they are recording with the same lineup heard on Kicking Television.

Ohio State Marching Band – ‘Script Ohio’

Chuck vs. Tito: Tonight!

And the undercard looks cool too. Forrest Griffin is awesome.

Update: Chuck won. Forrest lost. It was a good show. Here’s hoping the rumours of a Montreal pay-per-view event in 2007 are true.

Holiday greetings ’06

My personal Christmas card project didn’t get off the ground this year (shame on me). Instead of warm hand-written greetings from me, here are various holiday electronic greetings that have been sent/pointed out to me. If you know of others, please leave links in the comments.

5 things meme

Lisa Walker tagged me with the "5 things you didn’t know about me" meme. Which is kind of ironic, because Lisa’s very next post is about "the permanent record" of our lives online. Which, I think has  interesting implications for kids who are growing up wired and are sharing all kinds of stuff online.

Hmmm….back to the task at hand…personal details to share with you…

1. I once played the role of a disgruntled sheep in a church Christmas musical. I also played trombone in school and community bands for like ten years. I was/am such a nerd.

2. Snakes. I hate ‘em.

3. My favourite sport is basketball. I played varsity ball in my early teens until I blew my knees.

4. I was born in Brantford, Ontario, but never lived there.

5. Filling out these things gives me fits of insecurity. It is far too much pressure to say something interesting, funny, compelling, comment-worthy, sigh….

I shall pass on the joy to Julia, Ed, Mark, Patsy Stone and Chris.

I have the power

indexcmotu

Because its Friday, and Rosa and I got chatting about 80s cartoons, here is some retro goodness for you: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. This was huge at our house. My brother and his friends were into the whole scene. I’ve just realized I can use the “I have the power” catch-phrase as a cornerstone for my next social media talk… or maybe not.
